Wii Fit in stock at Game!

My other half has just informed me of an exiting new purchase – he’s just bought a Wii Fit from Game as they’ve just received new stock! We’ve been wanting a Wii Fit for ages, but refused to pay over-the-odds in order to get one in time for Christmas – I am really looking forward to having a go on it!
I hate going to the gym (it’s boring, smelly and seems really competitive) so when the credit-crunch hit and my boyfriend suggested we cancel our joint membership, I was really pleased! Bring on Wii Fit! At around £80, it costs the same as 1 months joint membership at our local gym. I intend to use the yoga on our Wii Fit, but I’ve a feeling it could be hogged by the boy – who’s literally bursting with excitement over the snowboarding and golf!
I’ll let you know how Wii get on….

Brain Training: Nintendo DS Lite

Throughout the last year, the portable console Nintendo DS Lite has taken the world by storm! I am a bit of a technophobe and have therefore, steered clear of such devices – however, when travelling this past weekend my other half insisted I give his Nintendo DS Lite Brain Training a go and I have to admit, I’m quite impressed! This addictive game stimulates your brain by challenging you to ‘simple’ mathematics, memory exercises, sudoku puzzles and reading aloud – keeping your mind fit and active. After playing the game, you’re then given a brain age based on your performance (no, I’m not telling you mine – it’s shameful…) As you achieve better scores, your brain age should get younger…!
I can see why the Nintendo DS Lite Brain Training has proved to be a popular game as, like any muscle, your brain atrophies if you don’t use it enough and no-one wants to believe this! The Brain Training: How old is your Brain? was developed to take advantage of this fact and our desire to challenge ourselves into beating our personal best scores, hence the addictive nature of this game. Very cleaver!
I have fallen prey to this console and intend to try a few of its other games. The Nintendo DS Lite console would also make a great Christmas gift and so, is one of my ‘must haves’.
Compact, light and sleek – the DS is very handbag friendly!

As I mentioned in a previous post – it’s getting to that time of year when our minds turn towards buying presents for the ones we love (and some we don’t love, but are obliged to!) Us women tend to be pretty fabulous at present buying – I actually get quite exited at the prospect of spending days trawling the high street…this is perhaps, because I tend to reward myself with a gift or two during the process….
My point is that men are the ones that need a helping hand this time of year – there are only so many toiletries one woman needs, or in my case (you might have read my post on the Triumph toothbrush) practical gadgets! i-Pod have just released their 4th generation Nano and I’m v.impressed! Currently I only own a shuffle, as my better half has a 2nd generation Nano which he hooks up to our home system, but the impressive extras on the new model has tempted me to get my own.
Now available in nine different colours the new generation are vibrant and sexy. I assumed I’d want the pink version, however, I’ve actually fallen for the yellow – as it would literally brighten up my day!
Now made from aluminium and glass, the i-Pod Nano is light and looks beautifully seamless. The Nano’s new Genius Tool is, genius…for want of a better word. If you’re listening to a song and want to listen to other tracks that compliment it, the Genius feature will find the songs in your music library that go well with the song creating a Genius Playlist for you. I’m no gym bunny…swimming is my sport of choice, as I can tone up and have ‘me’ time without feeling like I’ve broken sweat. However, there are occasions when the monotony of swimming length after length gets too much, when it’s so mind-numbingly dull I give in way before I’ve worked off the cheeky crumpet I had with my four o’clock cup of tea!

Babyliss Pro 230 Hair Staighteners
I’ve just purchased the new Babyliss Pro 230 Radiance straighteners after coveting my friend’s pair last weekend. A committed GHD user, I never thought I’d use another brand, but the new 230′s are awesome! For those of you who haven’t heard of them, Babyliss have come up trumps and created the Radiance Straighteners as part of their Pro 230 range. They are a gorgeous shade of red and come with a matching pouch and heat protective mat. At first I thought the Babyliss pro 230 hair straighteners looked heavier than my GHD’s, but if they are, you can’t tell when using them. The ceramic – titanium plates glide through my hair easily and the de-tangling fins are very useful as my hair is so thick (these are retractable for finer hair).
I was skeptical about Babyliss’ claim that the new and improved Pro 230′s would keep your hair straight for ‘twice as long’ as other leading brands – but they really do! The ionic steam improves the condition of hair, keeping it fizz free and very glossy. I’ve got thick hair that gets really tangled and wavy underneath - I used my mate’s on Saturday evening and my hair remained straight and free from frizz right up until I washed it on Monday evening. Result!
