Every year, when the Oscars hit our screens, I wait with bated breath to see what the ‘tone’ of the forthcoming Spring/Summer season of fashion will be. You can literally guarantee, that most mainstream actresses (those who are dressed by stylists) will all be wearing a similar shape or colour that will heavily infiltrate the high street.

This year it was nude tones that dominated the red carpet and our high street is now awash with various shades of this flattering trend. My current high street fav is this Autograph Occasions Sleeveless Fan Detail Dress from Marks and Spencer. In a barely there shade and with its pleat detailed neckline, this structured stunner ticks all the summer trend boxes and is a very reasonable £55!

I finally feel like a grown up. New Ugg Boots - Are they bad for you?

I was once again watching the fabulous Mark Heyes on GM.TV with Lorraine this morning – who mentioned certain news papers were running with the story that health experts believe Ugg Boots are bad for you….blah, blah, blah. Barely even news-worthy and exactly the sort of over-sensationalising poppycock I’d expect from our tabloids!

Mark Heyes wasn’t fazed by this attempt to stigmatise Ugg Boots and neither am I!! My classic, chestnut Uggs play a pivotal role in my day-to-day well-being. They are cosy, comfy and reliable. I wear my Ugg Boots with just about anything, to do just about anything and I wouldn’t have it any other way.

However, thanks to Mark Heyes little fashion feature, I know have Ugg Boot envy…I love the new Ugg Classic Tall Boot …WITH SHEEN! These luscious lovelies look like they’ve got a waxy surface protector covering the out-sides of the boot. This saves a lot of hassle and expense as I’m forever spraying my boots to keep them clean and water resistant.

Rubber Watches – Spring/Summer 09 – 80′s Trend is back!

As a child of the 80′s I can get nostalgic about the good old days, neon bermuda shorts, slinky’s, my New Kids on the Block skateboard….but in all honesty, I do my best to avoid looking at photos of myself with crimped hair and off-the-shoulder baggy jumpers. The fashion of the 80′s is not something I’m in a hurry to re-visit…

I groaned on hearing 80′s fashion would be a huge trend for Spring/Summer…we’re a country hailed for its progressive attitude towards fashion…is there really a need to drag up the looks of yester-year? I began surfing the net in search of this new 80′s look and am not too proud to admit – I was wrong. Looking at those bright colours, comfy tops and quirky accessories my mood improved. Thats what we need this wear, fun, creative fashion, that will make us smile.

I’m loving the new take on 80′s rubber watches – a key look to this trend. I was in love with my rubber watch as a child – particularly as it was digital – so I didn’t have to go to the effort of working out the dial! Mc Donalds was a great place to pick up a rubber watch - they came free with a Happy Meal, but these days, as Maccy D’s tend to give away carrots and veg, I recommend you head to Next for your rubber watch. This perky pink rubber watch from Next is so on-trend and a snip at £15!

Bliss: Fat Girl Slim Review

I just wanted to write a quick post about Bliss Fat Girl Slim cream, part of the Bliss beauty range. Celebrity Fitness DVD’s: Davina McCall and Claire Richards

The new year is upon us and I’ve made numerous promises to myself, the main one being that cliche resolution related to weight; however before I annoy you into believing that I conform to every actress sterio-type of coveting the ‘lollypop-head’ look – I dont. I’d prefer to not lose weight – as it will invariably lead to loss of boobage (annoyingly, my rack is the last place to gain weight – first place to lose it) and that wouldn’t please my other half who’s always held the opinion that at my tiniest my figure was reminiscent of a pre-pubescent boy (damn that lack of rack!)

I aim to ‘tone’ various regions and claw back some of the suppleness I once had and will be tuning into an celebrity fitness DVD to do so (credit-crunch friendly – it’s much cheaper than a gym!) I’ve seen the ‘Queen of Lean’ Davina McCall has once again come up trumps with a workout DVD, Davina Super Body Workout dvd, a fitness DVD jam-packed with two 40 minute routines and three 50 minute workouts! This comprehensive DVD works on toning legs, arms and a six pack. It looks fab, but a little too G.I Jane for me…I want something fun, that’s sure to keep my attention.

The celebrity fitness DVD I aim to get my hands on is Claire Richards Five Star Fat Attack dvd! I’ve a soft spot for Claire Richards, she never hides the fact that she loves food and so has created a workout that enables you to burn off that extra slice of cake without getting too military! This 70 minute workout DVD combines a warm-up, aerobics, body toning and a cool down – add to this the four hotties in army uniform – it’s a sure fire winner…I’ll let you know how I get on!
