Ruffles – French Connection Dress
Aug 3, 2009 fashion, French Connection
Our love affair with ruffles is set to continue into next season with main fashion lines releasing dresses, blouses and even shoes have been adorned with them.
Romantic ruffles have made an appearance in just about every designer collection and it’s easy to see why there so popular…
Flattering and elegant, I adore this French Connection dress; flouncy, flirty and full of ruffles its simple monochrome straps avoid it from creeping into frou frou territory. Its cascading tiered structure adds an element of the 20′s flapper dress style, so in keeping with the Chanel style that’s so popular at the moment.
This delightful dress from French Connection is available now!

Cheryl Cole Orange Dress – Dorothy Perkins
Jul 30, 2009 celebrities, fashion
She’s the nations sweetheart, thanks to her warm-hearted approach on X-Factor and now Cheryl Cole is seriously upping the style stakes too!
I’d previously not really rated her as a fashionista – she can look too groomed and overdone – and whilst I still find her outfits somewhat contrived, there’s no doubt that Cheryl Cole has recently learnt some serious style rules…
On a recent trip to LA, Cheryl Cole looked simply stunning. Her fun, relaxed attitude reflected in her attire. My favourite ensemble was the orange dress she wore on a visit to the sound studio. Teamed with matching shoes and a sassy leopard print bag, Cheryl let her orange dress do most of the talking.
Steal Cheryl Cole’s style with this uber gorgeous orange dress from Dorothy Perkins – a shift style with subtle bubble hem, it’s a great way to show off your tanned pins! Available from Dorothy Perkins now!

M&S – Limited Collection – Snake Print Dress – Tribal Trend
Apr 14, 2009 fashion, marks and spencer
M&S continue to be on-the-up, creating another season of beautifully designed clothes and accessories that surpass the last seasons wonderful range; I love, in particular, the M&S Limited Collection which is full of forward thinking designs heavily influenced by catwalk trends.
A particularly wonderful on-trend item is this tribal inspired, snake print Pleated Front Tunic, which could also serve as a short shift dress. I adore the way M&S have mixed a formal silky material with casual over-sized pockets, making this dress suitable for both smart wear and dressed down days!
Team with a pair of platform gladiators – either bare legged for a night out or over leggings for day-wear chic. If you’re looking to channel the tribal trend – add some carefully selected jewellery – a pair of ethnic-esque statement earrings would do nicely.

Elizabeth and James – Nude – Pink Kimono Crepe Dress – Olsen Twins
Apr 3, 2009 fashion, my wardrobe
Every year, when the Oscars hit our screens, I wait with bated breath to see what the ‘tone’ of the forthcoming Spring/Summer season of fashion will be. You can literally guarantee, that most mainstream actresses (those who are dressed by stylists) will all be wearing a similar shape or colour that will heavily infiltrate the high street.
This year it was nude tones that dominated the red carpet and our high street is now awash with various shades of this flattering trend. My current high street fav is this Autograph Occasions Sleeveless Fan Detail Dress from Marks and Spencer. In a barely there shade and with its pleat detailed neckline, this structured stunner ticks all the summer trend boxes and is a very reasonable £55!
If you’ve a little more to spend, then head over to the Elizabeth and James collection at My-Wardrobe. Elizabeth and James is a collection designed by the Olsen twins – who themselves are huge fashion icons (stateside at least). Personally, I think their collection echoes their personal styles – eclectic, yet effortless – and none more so than this gorgeous and oh so easy-to-wear Pink Kimono Crepe Dress! Its hint of pink nude tone would suit most skin tones, whilst the casual cut and sleeves flatter and hide a multitude of sins. Its a My-wardrobe must-have!
