Michael Jackson T-shirt – Truffle Shuffle

blog153Quite understandably, his album sales have soared and with the tragic loss of Michael Jackson – we’ve all become a little nostalgic, resurrecting those retro Michael Jackson T-shirts from the 80′s, paying homage to the Prince of Pop.

I’ve been sporting my bro’s miss-shapen Thriller T-shirt of late….(even though it immediately hums a little under the arms) but if you’ve inadvertently got rid of your own Michael Jackson T-shirt, or are simply too young to remember him circa 1980 then Truffle Shuffle have the answer!

The Michael Jackson Bad T-shirt will help you commemorate his legacy with this tee by Amplified Vintage; inspired by the cover artwork from his iconic album, Bad, this quality Michael Jackson T-shirt is 100% official making it the perfect piece of memorabilia for any fan.

Zandra Rhodes – Marks and Spencer Collection Review

Since the 1970′s her unique use of patterns and prints on uber feminine designs have been famed the world over and now you can own a work of art, by purchasing a piece from the Zandra Rhodes collection at Marks and Spencer.

Made up of exotic looking paisley print dresses, catsuits and accessories, the Zandra Rhodes collection for Marks and Spencer is full of summer brights, perfect for holidays and warm summer evenings…

Theatrical and sexy, my favourite piece is this Rose Print Catsuit with metallic detailing. Sophisticated and bang on-trend, this Zandra Rhodes slouchy fit catsuit is inspired by her 70′s designs. A stunner that’s bound to turn heads the intricate detailing of bead-work and gold thread warrants the £65 price tag!

Playsuit – New Look – Cherry Print Playsuit

Playsuits are everywhere this season and it’s so east to see why! At a time when Britain’s down on its knees it’s great to see catwalks, shops and magazines full of brazen items that should improve your mood…and what could be more apt than the ‘play’ suit; an easy wear one piece that’s a little tongue in cheek!

The Cherry Print Playsuit from New Look is a saucy little number – fun and frivolous, its retro print is cute without being sickly sweet, whilst the batwing sleeves and nipped waist will flatter most.

A credit-crunch friendly £25 from New Look.

Elizabeth and James – Nude – Pink Kimono Crepe Dress – Olsen Twins

Every year, when the Oscars hit our screens, I wait with bated breath to see what the ‘tone’ of the forthcoming Spring/Summer season of fashion will be. You can literally guarantee, that most mainstream actresses (those who are dressed by stylists) will all be wearing a similar shape or colour that will heavily infiltrate the high street.

This year it was nude tones that dominated the red carpet and our high street is now awash with various shades of this flattering trend. My current high street fav is this Autograph Occasions Sleeveless Fan Detail Dress from Marks and Spencer. In a barely there shade and with its pleat detailed neckline, this structured stunner ticks all the summer trend boxes and is a very reasonable £55!

If you’ve a little more to spend, then head over to the Elizabeth and James collection at My-Wardrobe. Elizabeth and James is a collection designed by the Olsen twins – who themselves are huge fashion icons (stateside at least). Personally, I think their collection echoes their personal styles – eclectic, yet effortless – and none more so than this gorgeous and oh so easy-to-wear Pink Kimono Crepe Dress! Its hint of pink nude tone would suit most skin tones, whilst the casual cut and sleeves flatter and hide a multitude of sins. Its a My-wardrobe must-have!

Betty Jackson – Shift Dress – Debenhams – This Morning

The shift dress is back! With the arrival of uber stylish Michelle Obama in the White House and the return of Victoria Beckhams fashion line; featuring structured shift dresses, it’s obvious this trend is back with vengeance! It’s easy to see why the Betty Jackson shift dress is so enduringly popular – as it’s such an easy style to wear!

This Morning has just featured a stunning range of shift dresses from our high street – with my firm favourite being the Silver Tulip Shift Dress by Betty Jackson for Debenhams as it’s beautiful and such wonderful value for money. Betty Jackson shift dress has been designed with flattery in mind, its nipped in waist will flatter any figure, whilst the tulip skirt adds extra feminine curve. Made from a luxurious silk weave, offering sumptuous texture, it’s stunning structure makes this Betty Jackson shift dress from Debenhams a no-brainer investment buy that will see you through season to season. A must-have!

Acid Wash – 80′s Denim – Miss Selfridge Acid Wash Denim Dress

Acid wash denim is back! Inspired by the trashy 80′s trend, this current craze is all about channelling your inner Debbie Harry! The high street is awash with 80′s acid wash and stone wash denim….and sure, you could tone down the look by pairing acid wash jeans with a plain white T and Converse boots, but I think, if your going to channel 80′s, commit whole-heartedly!

This Acid Wash Denim Zip Dress from Miss Selfridge is trashtastic! Duel trend this boobtube dress is not only the right wash of denim – but it’s covered in zips, an 09 must-have!

Head to Miss Selfridge for your acid wash hit!

M&S Cuts – Fashion Sales Plummet

It’s been well documented throughout the media that M&S have had such poor sales this Christmas, they’ve no choice but to make cuts of around 1000 jobs. The fashion sales at M&S are what’s really slumped and the reason why the out-look isn’t good. I find this a tough pill to swallow and I’m not the only one – even Mark Heyes seemed baffled, when talking about the M&S cuts on this mornings GM.TV with Lorraine.

Like Mark Heyes, I believe M&S create beautifully cut, high quality, on-trend clothes – perfect for the current financial climate when everything seems so disposable and frivolous! Investment pieces are the way forward; women should be looking to create a capsule wardrobe of ‘good stock’ that will last for many years. I implore you, save M&S from further cuts, head to your local store and buckle the current trend of wasteful fashion for something enduringly chic, like this stunning Limited Collection Circle Mac, part of the new 50′s Festival trend at M&S, celebrating the vintage American look.
